Need-based Breathe Scholarships Available

The Grand Rapids Writers’ Guild wants to partner with aspiring writers who wish to attend Breathe, but are prohibited because of finances. So two Breathe scholarships will be awarded on the basis of need and writing desires. Novelist, Guild member and Breathe presenter Tracy Groot (Madman) will judge entries and award the scholarships. Winners will receive a free admission to Breathe. To enter, please write a short essay following the guidelines below:

Guidelines for Scholarship

Write a 250-300 word essay that explains your financial need and your writing experience and goals.

Essay format: Times New Roman, 12-point type, double space. 

On first page, include your name, e-mail address and phone number.

Send with a self-addressed, stamped envelope to: Tracy Groot, 4963 Laurelwood Dr., Hudsonville, MI 49426

Entries must be postmarked September 10.

Winners will be contacted by September 27.
